Keywords & Clusters

Outclimb discovers high-opportunity keywords through SERP analysis, groups them into topical clusters, and scores each one so you know exactly what to write about.

Overview

Rather than relying on a static keyword list, Outclimb continuously analyzes search results for your niche to find keywords where you can realistically rank. Keywords are then grouped into clusters — sets of related terms that should be covered by a single article — so your content strategy is topic-driven, not keyword-stuffed.

Key concepts

  • Keyword discovery — Outclimb queries search engines for terms related to your site's topics, competitors' rankings, and content gaps. If Google Search Console is connected, impression data further refines discovery.
  • Search intent — each keyword is classified by intent (informational, commercial, navigational, transactional) to match content format to searcher expectations
  • Topical clusters — related keywords are grouped so one article can target an entire cluster rather than a single keyword. This builds topical authority.
  • Opportunity score — a composite metric combining search volume, keyword difficulty, and your site's current position to surface the highest-ROI targets
  • Search volume & difficulty — estimated monthly searches and a 0–100 difficulty rating for each keyword

How to use it

  1. Visit Keywords in the sidebar to see all discovered keywords and their clusters
  2. Sort by opportunity score to focus on the highest-value targets
  3. Review clusters — each cluster will become one article in your content plan
  4. Approve keywords you want to target, delete irrelevant ones, or regenerate to discover fresh keywords
  5. Approved clusters flow into the Content Plan, where they're scheduled for writing
